CURLING AND CONTEMPORARY DANCE COLLIDE AT THE OPENING CELEBRATION OF THE VANCOUVER OLYMPIC/ PARALYMPICS CENTRE

Desirée Dunbar, acclaimed dance professional presents “Curling Rocks!”- A playful nod to the sport of Curling. Eleven professional, community and emerging dance artists and bag-piper Sylvia de Tar take to the stage to celebrate one of our most uniquely Canadian past- times.

LINK is a showcase of Vancouver’s most vibrant community and cultural dance.

The annual event brings together the resident dance companies of four distinct Arts Centres- Moberly Arts & Cultural Centre’s Startdance, Roundhouse Arts and Community Centre’s Roundhouse Community Dancers, Shadbolt Centre for the Arts’ Continuum Dance Company and the JCC Norman Rothstein Theatre’s Or Chadash Dancers.

Performances rotate annually to each Art Centre.

The CCDS gets the audience up close and personal with some of Vancouver’s hottest choreographers. Professional, emerging, community and culturally diverse dance artists come together in a highly charged evening of contemporary dance.
